Feelko — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 July 2026
Draft for review. This is not legal advice; for a health app handling special-category data under the GDPR, a review by a qualified lawyer is recommended before publishing.
1. Who we are
Feelko (“Feelko”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a personal health journal app for iPhone.
The data controller responsible for your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Alexandra Blednova, self-employed (OSVČ), IČO 07531320, Czech Republic. Contact: feelko.app@gmail.com
2. Our approach, in one paragraph
Feelko is built to keep your health information private. Your entries stay on your device and, if you use iCloud, sync only through your own private Apple iCloud account. We do not run any servers of our own, we do not use analytics or tracking, we do not show ads, and we do not share or sell your data. In normal use, we never see your health data.
3. What information Feelko handles
You choose what to enter. Feelko can store:
- Health journal entries you create — symptoms, doctor visits, lab tests, procedures, vaccines, medications, temperatures, dates, and free-text notes. This is health data (a special category of personal data under GDPR Article 9).
- File attachments you add — photos, scans, or PDFs (for example, test results), stored together with your entries.
- Profiles — a name, a preset avatar (a face + colour), and optionally year of birth and sex, for the people you track (for example, yourself or a child).
- Account information from Sign in with Apple — see Section 5.
- App settings — such as your chosen language and temperature unit.
Feelko does not use Apple HealthKit and does not read data from Apple Health or other apps.
4. Where your data is stored
- On your device, in the app’s private storage.
- In your private iCloud (Apple’s CloudKit private database) if you are signed in to iCloud — this is your Apple iCloud account, under your control. We have no access to it and cannot read it.
- File attachments are stored the same way (on your device and your iCloud).
We do not operate any backend servers of our own, and your health data is never transmitted to us or to any third party.
5. Sign in with Apple
To use Feelko you sign in with Sign in with Apple. Apple provides us with:
- a stable user identifier, stored securely in your device’s Keychain to keep you signed in;
- your name (only the first time you sign in), used to set up your profile;
- your email, which may be a private relay address (
…@privaterelay.appleid.com) if you choose to hide it.
We use this only to sign you in and personalize your profile. We do not send you marketing email and do not share this information with anyone.
6. Camera
If you attach a photo taken with the camera, Feelko uses the camera only at that moment to capture the image you choose to attach. Photos you pick from your library are selected through Apple’s system photo picker, so Feelko does not get access to your whole photo library.
7. What we do NOT do
- No analytics, no tracking, and no advertising identifiers (we show no App Tracking Transparency prompt because we do not track you).
- No third-party SDKs, advertising networks, or data brokers.
- No selling or sharing of your data.
- No use of your health data for advertising, marketing, or profiling of any kind.
8. Legal basis (GDPR)
Because the health information you enter is a special category of personal data (Article 9 GDPR), we rely on your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)), together with your consent under Article 6(1)(a), for handling it. You give this consent by choosing to create entries in Feelko. You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your data or your account (Section 9). Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place before withdrawal.
9. Data retention and deletion
Your data stays for as long as you keep it in the app — you are in control:
- Delete individual entries at any time.
- Export all your data to a CSV file (Settings → Export data).
- Delete your account to erase all profiles and all their data from the app (Settings → Delete account).
Because we hold no copy on any server of ours, deleting in the app removes the data from the app. Data in your iCloud is governed by your Apple iCloud settings and is removed as your device and iCloud sync the deletion.
10. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to: access, rectification, erasure, data portability, restriction, objection, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because your data lives on your device and your own iCloud, you can exercise most of these directly in the app:
- Access & portability — use Export data (CSV); you have your data directly.
- Rectification — edit any entry in the app.
- Erasure / withdraw consent — use Delete account, or delete individual entries.
For any question, or to exercise a right, contact feelko.app@gmail.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data-protection supervisory authority. In the Czech Republic this is the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, ÚOOÚ), www.uoou.cz.
11. Children
Feelko is not directed to children under 15 (the age of digital consent in the Czech Republic under Act No. 110/2019 Coll.). As a parent or guardian you may record information about a child (for example, their vaccines); you are responsible for that information in that role.
12. Security
Your data is protected by your device passcode/biometrics and iOS app sandboxing, and — for iCloud sync — by Apple’s iCloud security. We recommend keeping your device locked and protecting your Apple ID with two-factor authentication.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version, and material changes will be reflected in the app.
